The recent revivals of 110 in the Shade and Les Misérables are the winners of the awards, which are presented to productions that "best exemplify the goals of diversity, inclusion and the principals of equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre industry," according to a press release.

The Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Awards will be presented to the two productions at a private reception in Manhattan Feb. 25.

Through this award, according to the union, "Equity acknowledges that these productions . . . each challenged traditional stereotypes and were both wholly committed to diversity and inclusiveness in its casting."

The Roundabout Theatre Company's production of 110 in the Shade played a limited engagement at Studio 54 May 9, 2007-July 29, 2007. The musical was nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical.

The revival of Les Misérables at the Broadhurst Theatre played Nov. 6, 2006-Jan. 6, 2008. Founded in 1913, Actors' Equity Association represents more than 47,000 professional stage actors and stage managers nationwide. Equity seeks to "advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of our society."
