Theatre Development Fund's Theatre Access Project (TAP) is celebrating its 17th season of sign-language interpreted performances of Broadway productions for the hearing impaired. There are theatregoers who prior to TAP could never "hear" a Broadway show. Now the TAP program distributes more than 13,000 discount theatre tickets yearly to theatregoers with disabilities. Sign-language performances of The King and I, Show Boat and Victor/Victoria have already been given this season. Additionally, matinee performances of Miss Saigon will be given on November 20 and December 4 for grade school students who are hearing impaired as part of TAP's "Talking Hands" program for young audiences.
In order to be placed on TDF's Theatre Access Project mailing list for reduced price tickets to signed performances and other TAP services for people with disabilities, contact TDF at (212) 221-0885, ext. 212 or TTY (212) 719-4537.
