Howard Witt has been nominated for a Tony Award as Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance as Uncle Charlie in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. The Goodman Theatre production is directed by Robert Falls and stars Brian Dennehy.

Witt is familiar with Miller's classic: He has played Charlie before and starred as Willy Loman in a mounting at Missouri Rep. Other Miller work includes a turn as Joe Keller in All My Sons at St. Louis Rep.

Though he appeared on Broadway in David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross, Witt is primarily known for his regional work as such theatres as Chicago's Shakespeare Rep and Washington's DC's Arena Stage, where he was for ten years a company member.
