Michael Mayer has been nominated for a Tony for his direction of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Along with directing The Lion in Winter and Side Man, Michael Mayer revised and directed the Tony-nominated Best Revival of a Musical, Charlie Brown. Additions made by Mayer to the Clark Gesner musical include the character of Sally, Charlie Brown's sister, and the incorporation of "Peanuts" strips drawn since 1967.

Mayer received Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Side Man and Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards and a Tony nomination for last season's A View from the Bridge.. Other recent New York credits include Triumph of Love, Stupid Kids and View of the Dome.
