Richard Maltby Jr. and Ann Reinking have been nominated for Best Direction of a Musical for Fosse. The co-directors created the seamless, bookless world of the show by drawing on songs and musical numbers originally staged by the late Fosse.

Maltby is a director and lyricist whose songs with composer David Shire were heard in Big, Closer Than Ever and Baby, among other shows. He wrote lyrics for Miss Saigon and directed the hit, Ain't Misbehavin'.

Reinking won a 1997 Tony Award for recreating Fosse's work in the smash hit revival of Chicago, but began as a singer-dancer on Broadway in such shows as Fosse's Dancin' and Goodtime Charley, in which she played St. Joan opposite Joel Grey's King Charles of France. She earned Tony noms for both shows.

She was a Fosse partner on stage and off, and memorably appeared in his film, "All That Jazz." Other film appearances include "Annie," "Movie Movie" and "Micki and Maude."

She has choreographed ballets and a recent national tour of Applause.
