Livent's Fosse, a retrospective of musical numbers created by the late Bob Fosse, has won the Best Musical Tony Award.

It's a rich awards season for Livent, despite its financial troubles over the last year: Livent's Parade and Fosse are both competing for Best Musical this year.

Fosse -- nurtured by Fosse's widow, Gwen Verdon, daughter Nicole Fosse and torchbearer Ann Reinking -- is a seamless recreation of his great numbers from The Pajama Game, Chicago, Pippin, Dancin' and such films as "Cabaret" and "All That Jazz," and more, and is played in three acts.

Audience interest has been high and consistent for the revue, which was a near-sellout in its December 1998-January 1999 preview period. A national tour will begin in Chicago in fall 1999.
