News   2003 MAC Nominee Offers Duplex Concerts April 11 and 25 David Gurland, a 2003 MAC Award nominee for Best Male Vocalist, will perform at New York’s Duplex April 11 and 25.

Featuring musical director Dick Gallagher on piano, cellist George Trapp and vocalist Julie Reyburn, Gurland will offer an eclectic array of tunes, including pop/rock songs as well as standards by Rodgers and Hammerstein and Jule Styne. Both concerts are scheduled for 7 PM. David Gurland is the recipient of the Manhattan Association of Cabaret and Club’s Hanson Award and the Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist. He also won a Bistro Award for his self-titled CD. Gurland has performed in a plethora of New York venues, including Downtime, The Bitter End, The Living Room, CB’s Gallery, FEZ, The Firebird, Eighty-Eights, The Triad as well as the Gardenia in Los Angeles.

The Duplex is located in New York City at 61 Christopher Street (at Seventh Avenue). There is a $12 cover charge and a two-drink minimum; cash only. Reservations can be made by calling (212) 255 5438.
