Tony Awards 2010 Tony Award Nominations Will Be Announced May 4 The calendar of events for the 2009-2010 Tony Awards season has been announced.

As previously reported, the 64th Annual Tony Awards, celebrating the best of Broadway, will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall June 13. CBS will telecast the three-hour evening beginning at 8 PM ET.

The events leading up to that celebration follow:

  • April 29: Cut off-date for Tony eligibility. To be eligible for nomination for the 64th Annual Tony Awards, Broadway shows must open on or before this date.
  • May 4: The nominations for the 64th Annual Tony Awards will be announced. Playbill.com will publish the complete list of nominees that morning.

  • May 5: The annual Meet the Nominees press reception, which allows members of the New York press to chat with those nominated for Tony Awards.
  • May 20: The Tony Nominees Luncheon, where the nominees celebrate each other's achievements; no press members are allowed at this event. For more information visit www.tonyawards.com.

    The 2010 Tonys are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. At The Broadway League, Paul Libin is chairman and Charlotte St. Martin is executive director. At the American Theatre Wing, Theodore S. Chapin is chairman and Howard Sherman is executive director. For Tony Award Productions, Alan Wasser and Allan Williams of Alan Wasser Associates are the general managers.

    Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment are executive producers of the 2010 Tony Awards. Weiss will also serve as director of the 2010 Tony Awards.
