The evening will feature appearances by Daniel Radcliffe, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock, Alec Baldwin, Samuel L. Jackson, Kelsey Grammer, Viola Davis, Vanessa Redgrave, James Earl Jones, Harry Connick, Jr., Christie Brinkley, David Hyde Pierce, Marg Helgenberger, Matthew Broderick, Angela Lansbury, Jim Parsons, Joel Grey, Patrick Wilson, Robert Morse and many others.

The 2011 Tony Awards will be executive-produced by Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment.

In a previous statement Harris said, "I'm honored and stoked to have been asked to host the 2011 Tony Awards. It should be a great show - we've got a fantastic mix of live performances, a few secret surprises, and since they're closed for retooling, we're using all the rigging equipment from Spider-Man. What could possibly go wrong?"

"We're thrilled to have Neil back as our host," added Kirshner and Weiss. "And we're even happier he fits in the Spider-Man rigging."

The awards, Broadway's highest honor, have been broadcast on CBS since 1978. This will be the first year that the show will be broadcast from The Beacon Theatre, which is part of the Madison Square Garden portfolio of venues. (As previously reported, Radio City Music Hall, the home of the Tony Awards for the past several years, is unavailable for this year's awards show.) Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris, who made his New York Philharmonic debut as Tobias Ragg in May 2000 in the Orchestra’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd, currently appears as Barney Stinson in the hit television series, "How I Met Your Mother." He has starred in three Broadway productions, including the dual roles of The Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald in the Tony Award-winning musical Assassins; in the Pulitzer Prize-winning production of Proof, opposite Anne Heche; and as the emcee in Cabaret at Studio 54.  He recently won his first two Emmy Awards for his guest-starring role on "Glee," in addition to serving as host of the 2009 Tony Awards. He also served as host of the 2009 Emmy Awards. His role on "How I Met Your Mother" has garnered him four consecutive Emmy Award nominations and two consecutive Golden Globe nominations. He was most recently seen in the New York Philharmonic production of Company.
