News 2016 Lucille Lortel Awards Presented Tonight Presented May 1, the 31st Annual Lucille Lortel Awards celebrate the best of Off-Broadway.

Zachary Levi, star of Broadway’s She Loves Me, hosts the 31st Annual Lucille Lortel Awards, which honor the best in Off-Broadway achievement. The ceremony takes place May 1 at NYU Skirball Center in New York City.

Playbill.com will report the winners once they are announced.

Presenters include Lupita Nyong’o, Jonathan Groff, Billy Eichner, Laura Benanti, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, John Gallagher, Jr., John Benjamin Hickey, Stark Sands, Molly Ringwald, Hannah Elless and Ben Rappaport, among others.

Three-time Tony Award nominee Laura Linney is set to co-present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Signature Theatre's founding artistic director James Houghton.

Roundabout Theatre Company's The Humans leads with a total of six nominations, including acting nominations for Reed Birney and Jayne Houdyshell.

FUTURITY, Guards at the Taj and John all tied with five nominations. Actress Leslie Kritzer earned two nominations, for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for her performances in Gigantic and The Robber Bridegroom. This year's Voting Committee chose to present the award for Outstanding Alternative Theatrical Experience to Signature Theatre's Angel Reapers, as well as a special award to Peter Nigrini in recognition of his projection design for Grounded at The Public Theater.

Representatives of the Off-Broadway League, Actors’ Equity Association, Stage Directors & Choreographers Society, the Lucille Lortel Foundation, in addition to theatre journalists and academics and other Off-Broadway professionals, serve on the voting committee.
