The outdoor fundraiser in Shubert Alley raises money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and features a host of theatrical memorabilia donated by the theatrical community. The day-long event also boasts a Celebrity Table, where theatre fans can purchase autographs by or photos with their favorite stars from Broadway, Off-Broadway and television serials. The well-attended event also includes a Grand Auction, where "singular items and opportunities such as walk-on roles in Broadway shows, television programs and films" are auctioned to the highest bidder. Last year's Flea Market — held Sept. 24, 2006, in Shubert Alley — raised $505,832 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The booth that raised the most money ($24,311) was hosted by the United Scenic Artists. The show booth that raised the most money was The Phantom of the Opera, which took in $13,230. Since its debut in 1987, the annual fundraiser has brought in $6,551,418 for BC/EFA.
