News 22 Composers and Lyricists Will Join Forces for Identity Crisis Musical, Written and Performed Over 48 Hours Twenty-two composers and lyricists will come together to create a new musical Identity Crisis, which will be presented Aug. 15 at 7 PM at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York.

Presented by The Composers Collective, the A (written in) 48-Hour Musical event asks the writers to come up with the score for the new musical, which features a book by Allen Mogol, in 48 hours.

Featured composers include Holland Albright, Ruth Ansell, Peter Fedak, Kit Goldstein Grant, Alicia Lieu, Matthew Mezzacappa, Neil Radisch, Hany Rizkalla, Derek Simon, Eimi Tanaka and Matt Weber. Featured lyricists include Christyn Budzyna, Kathryn Funkhouser, Eric Grunin, Joseph Guarino, Matthew Hardy, Talaura Harms, Ed Levy, Joseph Olson, Richard Patterson, Conly Basham and Gil Varod.

Andrew Willis-Woodward, a graduate of CAP21, will direct the musical comedy, produced by Composers Collective founding member Kit Goldstein Grant. Mike Maloney, Aryn Nemiroff and Amber Patrick will star.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located inside the West Bank Cafe, 407 W. 42nd Street. The cover charge is $25, and there is a $20 food/drink minimum. Advance tickets are recommended and can be purchased at Westbankcafe.com/beechman_theatre.html.
