25 Days of Tonys: What Would Tootsie's Sarah Stiles Call the Show About Her Life? | Playbill

Video 25 Days of Tonys: What Would Tootsie's Sarah Stiles Call the Show About Her Life? The high-energy star in Broadway’s Tootsie talks about her latest Tony nomination.

The last time Sarah Stiles played the Broadway stage, her character was known for her deadpan style. Now on Broadway in Tootsie, Stiles plays a whirlwind of a character. “Sandy is all emotion all the time. She cannot bring it down,” Stiles told Playbill on opening night.

In the video above, Stiles reveals that she communes with her Tootsie character. If she had a show written about her life she would want Robert Horn (Tootsie book writer) to pen it and she “would call it Beautiful Disaster.”

But Stiles’ work in the role is anything but; in fact, she’s earned a Tony nomination for it. “I’m so happy where I’m at right now,” she says. “Can we just work with all the same people all the time over and over and over again on all the projects?”
