News 29th Street Rep Spends Time Hiding Behind Comets Feb. 10-March 13 Brian Dykstra's Hiding Behind Comets is the new offering from Off-Broadway's 29th Street Rep, showing Feb. 10-March 13 at the company's 212 W. 29th St. location.

David Mogentale will direct the New York premiere about "fraternal twins Honey and Troy, who tend their family-owned tavern, [and] share an unusually strong bond. When a menacing stranger walks in and shares bone-chilling tales, it becomes clear that his visit to this small-town dive is not purely coincidental. As their relationship to him, and to each other, is exposed, this suspenseful story spirals into a harrowing, vicious, edge-of-your-seat thriller."

The play had its debut at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park in spring 2004. Fans of controversy will remember that when the Playhouse chose the drama as the recipient of its annual Rosenthal New Play Prize, the honor's benefactors, Lois and Richard Rosenthal, decided to discontinue their support of the 15-year-old trophy.

"Because of a lack of enthusiasm for this year’s selection," the Rosenthals said in a statement, "we have chosen to discontinue the prize... While this is the first time we have chosen not to award the prize once [producing artistic director Ed Stern] has selected a play, we would prefer to avoid an awkward situation of this sort in the future."

The cast includes Moira MacDonald, Amber Gallery, Robert Mollohan and Dan Moran.
