Classic Arts News 5 Browns Perform for Laura Bush The piano-playing siblings the 5 Browns performed for First Lady Laura Bush and Lynne Cheney, wife of vice president Dick Cheney, at a luncheon in honor of Bush yesterday.
According to a press release, the performance was greeted with a standing ovation.

The group is made up of five Brown siblings—Desirae, Ryan, Melody, Gregory, and Deondra—all of whom attended the Juilliard School. Their eponymous first album has been at or near the top of the Billboard classical chart since it was released in February; it is currently at number two.

The album includes such classical favorites as Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee, and Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from Peer Gynt. Four of the tracks are arranged for five pianos; the others are performed as solos or duets by various combinations of the siblings.

According to a press release, the Browns will make a series of festival appearances this summer and will record their next album in August. After the recording sessions, they will tour Europe and Asia in support of their first album.
