News 50 Shades! The Musical, Based on Best-Selling Book Series, Receives New York Premiere Jan. 11-12 The original parody 50 Shades! The Musical, which has been seen in Chicago and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, makes its New York premiere Jan. 11-12 at the Gramercy Theatre.

The work, which is based on the best-selling "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy, features the musical comedy ensemble Baby Wants Candy.

50 Shades! The Musical, according to press notes, "opens with a ladies book club deciding to read 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' Through their interpretation of the novel, the audience is lead on a hilarious roller coaster ride of this unlikely bestseller. The show is full of dance numbers, 11 original songs and a live band backing the performance."

The cast includes Amber Petty as Anastasia Steele, Chris Grace as Christian Grey, Jessica Joy as Carol/Secretary, Glennis McCarthy as Bev/Katherine, Meghan Murphy as Pam, Nick Semar as Jose, DJ Blickenstaff as Elliott Grey, Carolina Santos Read as Inner Goddess, Matt McMahan as Red Room, Robert McKee and Nolan McKew. 

Original songs include "They Get Nasty," "I Don't Make Love, IF#*!" and "There's a Hole Inside of Me."
