The 92nd Street Y wraps its popular series, "Ned Rorem Hosts," with the American composer exploring "American Songwriters - Present Tense: Ricky Ian Gordon, Daron Hagen, John Musto" on May 10. The event is the last in a featured three-part series that also focused on musical theatre legend Stephen Sondheim and string quartets.

According to the 92nd Street Y's website, the May 10 installment of the Rorem series will include "newly commissioned song cycles from the brightest lights on the vocal scene," that will showcase the "state of American songwriting."
Rorem will present three premieres of newly-commissioned song cycles by composers Gordon, Hagen and Musto, plus a composition of his own, a song cycle based on Walt Whitman texts.
Featured May 10 will be Rorem and the composers at the piano, as well as sopranos Amy Burton and Ashley Putnam, baritone Kurt Ollmann and mezzo-soprano Margaret Lattimore. Tickets to the final installment of the Ned Rorem series are $25. The 92nd Street Y is located at Lexington and 92nd Street. For more information or reservations call (212) 996-1100.
