Fall programming will kick off Sept. 8 at 7:30 PM with The O'Neill Center: 50 Years of Creating American Theater. O'Neill Center artistic directors Wendy Goldberg (of the National Playwrights Conference) and Paulette Haupt (of the National Music Theater Conference) and distinguished alumni will look at the O'Neill's influential role as a theatrical laboratory over the last 50 years.
In advance of Classic Stage Company's production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Allegro, CSC artistic director Brian Kulick and Tony-winning director John Doyle will lead a conversation on the legendary team's groundbreaking and little-known work. The evening will also feature performances by cast members to be announced.
Other events include The Music of Jerome Kern (Sept. 9 at noon), Jerome Robbins' Broadway Choreography (starting Oct. 1), The Music of Stephen Sondheim (Nov. 11 at noon) and The Music of Rodgers & Hart (Nov. 20 at noon).
