Memphis cast member David McDonald, who plays in the ensemble of the hit musical, had a surprise for a front-row audience member after the April 17 matinee performance.

McDonald's girlfriend, Pilar, was sitting front row when the actor announced to the audience that she was "the love of [his] life." After receiving a standing ovation from the crowd during curtain call, the audience remained standing when McDonald proceeded to get down on one knee.

In the words of Huey Calhoun from Memphis, McDonald said, "Will you be the woman to pick out my clothes for the rest of my life?"
