Broadway News A Bronx Tale Will Welcome Newsies’ Adam Kaplan in November Kaplan will succeed original star Bobby Conte Thornton.

Adam Kaplan, who understudied the role of Jack Kelly in Broadway's Newsies and played Charlie Price in the national tour of Kinky Boots, will join the cast of Broadway's A Bronx Tale November 9 at the Longacre Theatre.

Kaplan will step into the role of Calogero, succeeding Bobby Conte Thornton, who will play his final performance November 5.

The cast also stars Tony Award nominee Nick Cordero as Sonny, Richard H. Blake as Lorenzo, Lucia Giannetta as Rosina, Bradley Gibson as Tyrone, and Christiani Pitts as Jane.

The ensemble features Michelle Aravena, Gilbert L. Bailey II, Joe Barbara, Michael Barra, Brianna-Marie Bell, Jonathan Brody, Ted Brunetti, Brittany Conigatti, Kaleigh Cronin, Sam Edgerly, Charlie Marcus, Janelle McDermoth, Shannon Mullen, Jonah Mussolino as the Young Calogero alternate, Robert Neary, Dominic Nolfi, Brandi Porter, Paul Salvatoriello, Joseph J. Simeone, Joey Sorge, Cary Tedder, Keith White, and Christopher Henry Young.

A Bronx Tale has a book by Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri, music by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Alan Menken, and lyrics by Grammy winner and Oscar and Tony nominee Glenn Slater. It is co-directed by two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony winner Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony nominee Sergio Trujillo.
