News A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story of Christmas Begins Hartford Stage Run Nov. 28 Alan Rust stars as Christmas curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge in the Hartford Stage production of A Christmas Carol, which begins performances Nov. 28.

Adapted and directed by Hartford Stage artistic director Michael Wilson from Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story of Christmas will continue through Dec. 28. The production marks the 11th anniversary of Hartford's staging of the Victorian favorite.

The Hartford cast features Bill Kux as the Ghost of Jacob Marley, Robert Hannon Davis as Bob Cratchit, Curtis Billings as Fred, Jeffrey V. Thompson as the Spirit of Christmas Present, Rebecka Jones as Mrs. Cratchit, Johanna Morrison as the Spirit of Christmas Past, Natalie Brown, as Mrs. Fezziwig, Noble Shropshire as a solicitor and undertaker and Michelle Hendrick as Belle.

Acting students from the Hartt School, including Rob Cunliffe, James DiMatteo, Ellenkate Finley, Paul Frazee, Deirdre Garrett, Sarah Goosmann, Erika Klics, Kyle Metzger, Kurt Peterson, Aidan Fio Rito and Daniel Toot, complete the ensemble.

Gustave Johnson will portray Scrooge for selected performances. The Hartford Stage presentation also includes more than two- dozen local children who populate the London world of A Christmas Carol.
