News A Family in an Uncertain Future Is Focus of Treefall, an L.A. World Premiere Henry Murray's Treefall, a new drama set in a future altered by climate change, will get its world premiere by Rogue Machine July 30-Sept. 6 in Los Angeles.

John Perrin Flynn directs the new work, billed as "the story of three teenagers who have been surviving in a cabin in the Pacific Northwest, trying to keep their make-shift family unit together. The arrival of a stranger with a secret unhinges the life they knew, and the vestiges of civil behavior crumble. The play re-examines how our culture sees and instills gender, identity, and family…even in a future world where these strictures have eroded."

The cast includes West Liang, Brian Norris, Brian Pugach and Tania Verfield. The creative team includes Leigh Allen (lighting), Stephanie Kerley Schwartz (set) and Joseph "Sloe" Slawinski (sound).

Rogue Machine "is a collective of award winning entertainment veterans bringing a new and distinctive voice to Los Angeles theatre."

Treefall is the third main stage production for the company's second season. The company's mission includes building a theatre of ideas and nurturing the development of plays from contemporary writers while manifesting current culture, and consciousness.

Playwright Henry Murray's plays includes The Skeletal Remains of an American Indian by the Light of the Harvest Moon and The Hearing Trumpet. He is a founding member of Nashville's avant-garde theatre, The Ensemble Theatre Company. Rogue Machine presents at Theatre Theater 5041 Pico Blvd., Los Angeles.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling (323) 960-7774 or at www.roguemachinetheatre.com.
