The upcoming Broadway premiere of Beetlejuice, directed by Alex Timbers and choreographed by Connor Gallagher, is set to begin performances at the Winter Garden Theatre March 28 following its world premiere in 2018. The musical, inspired by Tim Burton’s 1988 dark comedy, will open March 25.
Taking on the title “freelance bio-exorcist” is Tony nominee Alex Brightman, with Sophia Anne Caruso starring alongside side him as teenage loner Lydia. Joining them are Tony nominees Kerry Butler and Rob McClure as Barbara and Adam Maitland and Leslie Kritzer and Adam Dannheisser as Lydia and Charles Deetz.
With a score by Eddie Perfect and a book by Anthony King and Scott Brown, the production features orchestrations by music supervisor Kris Kukul, sets by David Korins, costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Peter Hylenski, projection design by Peter Nigrini, puppet design by Michael Curry, special effects by Jeremy Chernick, and illusions from Michael Weber.
