The three-hour drama opened at the Royal Court Theatre in 2009 where it played an extended sold-out run, before moving to the Apollo Theatre in the West End in January 2010.
The production now comes to Broadway with a cast that includes John Gallagher, Jr., Mark Rylance, Mackenzie Crook, Max Baker, Geraldine Hughes and Molly Ranson, as well as seven members of the original Royal Court and West End company: Alan David, Aimeé-Ffion Edwards, Danny Kirrane, Charlotte Mills, Sarah Moyle, Harvey Robinson and Barry Sloane. Aiden Eyrick and Mark Page will alternate the role of Marky.
Jerusalem is set in the woods of southwest England where "Johnny 'Rooster' Byron, former daredevil motorcyclist and modern-day Pied Piper, is a wanted man. The council officials want to serve him an eviction notice, his son wants to be taken to the country fair, a stepfather wants to give him a serious kicking and a motley crew of friends wants his ample supply of drugs and alcohol."
