A Look at Familiar at Steppenwolf Theatre

Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s production of Familiar, Danai Gurira’s critically acclaimed play, is set to open November 26 in Chicago. The production, directed by Danya Taymor, is scheduled to run through January 13, 2019.

Familiar concerns a Zimbabwean-American family searching to preserve their past while building a new future. The play had its world premiere at Yale Repertory Theatre in February 2014 before making its New York premiere at Playwrights Horizons in 2016.
