News A Musical Preview of Mykal Kilgore, Lilli Cooper, Christine Dwyer in Broadway Sings Whitney Houston Broadway performers from The Color Purple, Waitress and Wicked will pay tribute to the late singer on April 10 at the Highline Ballroom.

Playbill stopped in on rehearsal for Broadway Sings Whitney Houston, the latest installment of creator and producer Corey Mach’s ongoing Broadway Sings concert series.

Here, Mykal Kilgore (The Wiz Live!, The Book of Mormon) sings “Didn’t We Almost Have It All.”

The concert series has previously honored the likes of Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Sara Bareilles and Billy Joel. In this edition, presented April 10 at NYC’s Highline Ballroom, music director and arranger Joshua Stephen Kartes provides original orchestrations for the legendary pop diva’s biggest hits and most-loved songs.

Here, Aisha Jackson (Waitress) puts her spin on “The Greatest Love of All."

Performers include Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Jason Gotay (Spider-Man Turn off the Dark), Carly Hughes (Chicago), Amber Iman (Shuffle Along), Marcus Paul James (Rent), Ciara Renée (Pippin, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Saycon Sengbloh (Eclipsed), Marisha Wallace (Something Rotten!) and many more.
