PlayBlog A Preview to Stratford Shakespeare Festival's Grapes of Wrath (Video) Frank Galati's stage adaptation of John Steinbeck's novel The Grapes of Wrath is directed by Antoni Cimolino and currently plays in repertory at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario. Here, Playbill.com offers a glimpse into the performance.

Galati's adaptation officially opened June 1 and will run thorough Oct. 29. Here is how Stratford describes the play: "Having survived the drought of the 1930s Dust Bowl only to see their home repossessed by the bank, the Joad family embark on a harrowing trek from Oklahoma to California, intending to begin anew as migrant farm workers. Their arrival in this 'promised land,' however, brings its own test of the human spirit."

The cast features Evan Buliung as Tom Joad, Victor Ertmanis as Pa, Tom McCamus as Jim Casy, Janet Wright as Ma, Randy Hughson as Uncle John, Chilina Kennedy as Rose of Sharon, Paul Nolan as Al, Chick Reid as Granma/Elizabeth Sandry, Mark Cassius as Fifth Narrator, Ian D. Clark as Grampa, Kyle Golemba as Bookkeeper, Peter Hutt as Muley Graves/Contractor, Robert King as Man Coming Back, Andrew Penner as Man with the Guitar/First and Fourth Narrator, Steve Ross as Noah, Tyrone Savage as Floyd, John Vickery as Camp Proprietor, Sophia Walker as Second and Third Narrator, Brigit Wilson as Mrs. Wainwright, Abigail Winter-Culliford as Ruthie, Josh Young as Connie and George Meanwell and Anna Atkinson as Musicians.
