The world premiere of Louis Mustillo's Bartenders will continue through Oct. 16 at Theatre Theater in Hollywood. Written and performed by Mustillo, the play is a tribute to career bartenders, who serve as friend, father-confessor, psychotherapist and ego-booster to many a member of the Cocktail Nation.
Mustillo knows whereof he speaks. The son of a lifetime bartender, he worked as a bartender himself until he was able to pay his way as an actor.
A native of Buffalo with homes in NYC and L.A., Mustillo is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He starred in the recent cop series "High Incident" produced by Steven Speilberg and Eric Bogosian. His bi-coastal stage resume includes winning a Drama-Logue Award for Sticks and Stones at the Met Theatre in L.A.
Jack Kehler and Janis Powell co-direct Bartenders. Jeff Murray of Theatre Theater and Christopher Wright Management are the producers.
Theatre Theater is located at 6425 Hollywood Blvd, 4th floor, Hollywood. Performances are Fri. & Sat. at 8 PM; admission is $12. For tickets and information call (323) 871-9433. -- By Willard Manus
