Aasif Mandvi has joined the cast of New York City Center’s upcoming gala presentation of Brigadoon. The actor and comedian will take on the role of Jeff Douglas, appearing alongside the previously announced Tony winner Kelli O’Hara and Tony nominees Patrick Wilson and Robert Fairchild.
Mandvi received an Obie Award for his solo show Sakina’s Restaurant. He’s also appeared in Disgraced Off-Broadway and Oklahoma! on Broadway. On screen, he’s known for his work as a former correspondent for The Daily Show, as well as the films Mother’s Day, Million Dollar Arm, The Internship, and The Proposal and his HBO series The Brink.
Brigadoon premiered on Broadway in 1947 and tells the story of Tommy (Wilson) and Jeff (Mandvi), two American tourists who happen upon a peculiar Scottish village that only appears for one day every 100 years: Brigadoon. Among the residents of this village is Fiona (O'Hara), a young woman who immediately catches the eye of Tommy.
