News ABC Greenlights Taye Diggs Drama Stage and screen star Taye Diggs will be seen in a new ABC series this coming season.

Variety reports that ABC has greenlit the new drama "Daybreak," which features Diggs as "an L.A. cop wrongfully accused of murder. While trying to figure out who framed him, Diggs' character must also race to stop another murder from happening." Diggs previous television series was titled "Kevin Hill" and was seen on the UPN network. Rob Bowman directed the "Daybreak" pilot, which was executive-produced by Paul Zbyszewski, Matt Gross and Jeff Bell for Touchstone TV.

Taye Diggs has appeared on Broadway in Wicked, Carousel, Rent and Chicago. He received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for his performance in Off-Broadway's The Wild Party and was recently seen in A Soldier’s Play. Diggs’ screen credits include “Rent,” “Kevin Hill,” "How Stella Got Her Groove Back," "The Best Man," "The Way of the Gun," "House on a Haunted Hill," "The Wood," "Go," "Brown Sugar" and "Chicago."
