Here are some great pre/post theatre spots with views that will make you feel like you're high flying...just "don't look down".

China Club
268 W. 47th St. btwn Broadway and Eighth Ave.
This outdoor lounge is the official Tuesday night Rock of Ages summer after-show location. 80’s cover bands provide the music for the evening and cast members are known to show up post curtain. While this place normally comes with a cover charge, Rock of Ages ticket holders get in for a mere $5.

Bookmarks at the Library Hotel
299 Madison Ave. at 41st St., 14th floor
Bookmarks is a great place to go for some quiet cocktails and great views. Open from 4pm-midnight.

AVA Lounge
210 W. 55th St. btwn Seventh Ave. and Broadway
Enclosed lounge that features panoramic views of NYC.

Café Nicole’s Sky Deck at Hotel Novotel Times Square
226 W. 52nd St. btwn Broadway and Eighth Ave.
This open air area on the 7th floor of Hotel Novotel serves both cocktails and food.

Salon de Ning at the Peninsula Hotel
700 Fifth Ave. at 55th St.
For those looking to impress, the rooftop bar at the Peninsula Hotel is the place to go. The crowd here is well-heeled and the cocktails can get a bit pricey, but the view is superb and it’s a good place to with a group or if you’re flying solo.

Madison Square Terrace at the Wyndam Times Square South
341 W. 36th St. btwn Eighth and Ninth Aves.
The Wyndam Times Square boasts two great locations for outdoor entertaining. Their Greenhouse 36 restaurant features tapas in a garden/greenhouse setting while the upstairs Madison Square Terrace serves great cocktails. The Terrace also features what they call nightly “Attitude Adjustment Hours” aka half-priced drink specials.

Me Bar at La Quinta Inn
17 W. 32nd St. btwn. Fifth and Sixth Aves.
Me Bar is a bit off the Broadway “strip”, but it’s a great place to get cheap cocktails before or after a show. They don’t serve food here, but the staff is very friendly and accommodating and will let you bring food in or even order food to the bar from surrounding restaurants. The view of the Empire State building is breathtaking. Open late.
