News Abraham and Van Patten to Party Off-Bway in the Fall While Lesley Gore gets ready to do a guest stint in Broadway's Smokey Joe's Cafe, an Off-Broadway show has been announced that puns on the title of her most famous song. It's My Party (And I'll Die If I Want To), a comedy by Australian playwright Elizabeth Coleman, went into rehearsal June 21 and will open in late July.

While Lesley Gore gets ready to do a guest stint in Broadway's Smokey Joe's Cafe, an Off-Broadway show has been announced that puns on the title of her most famous song. It's My Party (And I'll Die If I Want To), a comedy by Australian playwright Elizabeth Coleman, went into rehearsal June 21 and will open in late July. Production spokespersons at the Jeffrey Richards office confirmed a Theatrical Index item about the show, which is produced by Julian Schlossberg, Mark Golub and Mark Balsam. Jeannie Berlin, who co-starred Power Plays, will direct Party, which stars F. Murray Abraham ("Amadeus") and Joyce Van Patten (Labor Day) as husband and wife.

The show, will be done at the ArcLight Theatre, where Jodie's Body and Tennessee Williams Remembered are both finishing their runs in June.
