Even though the Broadway revival of Cabaret has suspended performances indefinitely while construction workers shore up the neighboring building site, there's still a way to see two of the show's Tony-winning performers. Coincidentally, both Natasha Richardson and Ron Rifkin have movies opening July 29. Richardson, who won the Best Actress in a Musical Tony as the drug-addicted, raw-egg swilling chanteuse Sally Bowles in Cabaret, plays a squeaky-clean suburban mom in the movie remake of The Parent Trap.
Best Supporting Actor in a Musical Ron Rifkin, whose life is threatened as a Jewish fruitseller in Cabaret's Nazi Germany, has his life threatened again as a hostage in the movie thriller The Negotiator.
