Disney may have its Absent-Minded Professor, but on Mar. 8, NY's The Acting Company has its own "Absent-Minded Gentleman. This reading of Regnard's play, directed by Richard Corley, occurs against a soundscape of Haydn's Symphony No. 60 (as the author originally intended).
Starring in the reading are Acting Company members Glynis Bell, Terence Caza, Daniel Pearce and Lisa Tharps (the latter two appeared in the company's acclaimed one-act evening last season, Love's Fire). According to the Springer/Chicoine press office, the score will be performed by the Prism Chamber Orchestra.
The Acting Company's "Salon Series" ends Apr. 12 with Carolyn Blakiston's solo, Black Bread and Cucumber, based on her experience performing in the Moscow Art Theatre's The Cherry Orchard.
All readings take place in The Salon, located at 432 E. 91st St. in Manhattan. For information, call (212) 564-3510.
