CERRITOS, CA -- Eric Bogosian, Marsha Norman, John Guare and Tony Kushner are some of the playwrights represented with new work in Love's Fire: Fresh Numbers by Seven American Playwrights.

Produced by The Acting Company in celebration of its 25th anniversary, the evening of short plays and music inspired by Shakespeare's sonnets will be seen for one performance only on April 30 at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.

The Acting Company will follow with Romeo and Juliet and May 1 and 2.

Love's Fire had its world premiere at the Guthrie Theatre Lab in Minneapolis in January. Following the West Coast premiere in Cerritos, the production will travel to London's Barbican Centre, home of the Royal Shakespeare Company, which will present the show as part of its "Inventing America" series.

The production team is headed by Mark Lamos (director), Michael Yeargan (set design), Candice Donnelly (costume design), Robert Wierzel (lighting design) and Anne Cuttaneo (dramaturg). The Acting Company's new production of Romeo and Juliet is directed by the group's associate producing director, James Bundy. It had its New York premiere at the new Victory Theatre in January. The creative team includes Tony Award-winner Ming Cho Lee (set design), Tony Award-winner Ann Hould-Ward (costume design), Robert Wierzel (lighting design), Kim D. Sherman (composer), and Felix Ivanov (fight director and choreographer).
