News Actor-Author David Cale Premieres Latest, Likely Story, at Marquee David Cale, the performance artist and monologuist, will workshop his new work, A Likely Story, at the Marquee (356 Bowery) on Feb. 11, 18 and 25 as part of the Dixon Place Veterans Series.

Cale—who has authored and performed in such works as Lillian, Somebody Else's House, Deep in a Dream of You, The Nature of Things, Smooch Music, and Betwixt—will pack his latest with stories of "a married woman who considers making Viagra Brownies to seduce her neighbor; a wife whose poodle obsession gets out of hand; and two straight actors who loathe each other and are then cast as gay lovers in a TV movie." Theatregoers are also familiar with Cale from his acting appearances in such Off-Broadway New Group presentations as Curtains, My Night With Reg and The Fastest Clock In The Universe.

Dixon Place, which has a long history of nurturing talent, was once located on Allen Street in the Lower East Side. Since losing its space, the company has presented work at a variety of locales, while it waits to open a new permanent space sometime in 2005.

Tickets are $10. Call (212) 219-0073.
