News Actor on Scooter Takes Trip Into Orchestra Pit Off-Broadway At the Oct. 16 performance of the new musical Trip of Love, which is inspired by and set to the hit songs of the 1960s, an actor who was riding a scooter on stage accidentally drove the vehicle into the orchestra pit at Stage 42, formerly The Little Shubert Theater, on West 42nd Street. No one was injured.

Victoria Huston-Elem, who appeared in the national tour of The Addams Family, posted about the incident on Instagram, writing, "Tonight, I watched a Vespa careen off a stage directly into the orchestra pit. Miraculously, the actor/driver, musicians, and front row were all unharmed - but let this be a lesson to us all: whatever happened in your show tonight probably wasn't as terrifying as the conductor's view of 'It's Not Unusual.'"

A spokesperson for the production told Playbill.com, "We're very happy to report that no one was injured in the incident and that the show resumed several minutes later. We are grateful to the audience, who responded enthusiastically when the show resumed. The production is already taking measures to further ensure the safety of the company."

Created, directed and choreographed by James Walski, the show features a cast headed by Joey Calveri, David Elder, Kelly Felthous, Dionne Figgins, Austin Miller, Tara Palsha and Laurie Wells with Yesenia Ayala, Colin Bradbury, Bo Broadwell, Kyle Brown, Whitney Cooper, Alexa De Barr, Daniel Lynn Evans, Lisa Finegold, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Steve Geary, Daryl Getman, Jennifer Gruener, Brandon Leffler, Peter Nelson, Tara Palsha, Kristin Piro and Nicky Venditti.

The musical officially opens Off-Broadway Oct. 18. "The music told the story then and it will again this fall as Trip of Love brings the decade to life with over 25 of the biggest hits of the ‘60s." Songs include "Blowin’ In The Wind," "Born To Be Wild," "California Dreamin’," "I Saw Her Standing There," "These Boots Are Made For Walkin’," "White Rabbit," "You Don’t Own Me" and more.

The production also has scenic design by Tony Award winner Robin Wagner and costume design by Tony Award winner Gregg Barnes.

The musical is produced by Makoto Deguchi and had its world premiere in April 2008 at the Theatre Brava! in Osaka, Japan.
