Victoria Huston-Elem, who appeared in the national tour of The Addams Family, posted about the incident on Instagram, writing, "Tonight, I watched a Vespa careen off a stage directly into the orchestra pit. Miraculously, the actor/driver, musicians, and front row were all unharmed - but let this be a lesson to us all: whatever happened in your show tonight probably wasn't as terrifying as the conductor's view of 'It's Not Unusual.'"
A spokesperson for the production told Playbill.com, "We're very happy to report that no one was injured in the incident and that the show resumed several minutes later. We are grateful to the audience, who responded enthusiastically when the show resumed. The production is already taking measures to further ensure the safety of the company."
