Farewell to Elaine Aiken, who co-founded NY's Actors Conservatory with Lily Lodge in 1987. According to a July 28 NY Times obituary, Aiken died of cancer July 12. Born in Spain as Elena Arizmendi, Aiken became a Lee Strasberg protegee and taught at the Strasberg Theatre Institute 1977-84. She specialized in relaxation techniques and breathing control.

Stage roles included When Did You Last See My Mother? for the Young People's Repertory Theatre in 1967.
