Disney Theatrical Productions and Benincasa will each receive the Medal of Honor, the highest award given by the 132-year-old non-profit human services organization.
Benincasa oversees the programs and services of The Actors Fund, an organization that is available to everyone in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition.
“I believe so deeply in this organization but I also believe, so deeply, in Joe,” said Actors Fund chairman Brian Stokes Mitchell in a statement. “He is an incredible leader because he leads with his heart. He inspires all of us to dream big and do all we can to keep The Fund growing and serving more people in need in our industry every year.”
As previously reported, the evening will also honor Disney Theatrical Productions as they celebrate 20 years on Broadway.
The event begins with a 7 PM celebration tribute at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City, followed by a post-performance cast party at the New York Marriott Marquis. For tickets call (212) 627-1000 or email [email protected]. A limited number of tickets for the celebration tribute at the New Amsterdam Theatre only will be available for purchase at a future date.
