Farewell to veteran character actor Will Hare, a founding member of the Actors Studio. According to the Associated Press, Hare, 81, died Aug. 31 of a heart attack, collapsing onstage at a rehearsal. Hare's Broadway roles included 1944's Suds In Your Eye, the Horton Foote plays, Only The Heart and The Trip To Bountiful (1953), The Moon Is Down and The Visitor. 1968 saw Hare in a revival of Odets' The Country Girl (retitled Winter Journey at the Greenwich Mews Theatre. He also appeared in the 1988 drama Fighting Light, directed by Matthew Penn at NY's Rapp Art Center. His last stage performance was in a Joseph Chaikin-directed staging of Samuel Beckett's Nacht Und Traume, in 1996.
