News Actors & Writers Are Texas Bound at Alley's 7th Annual Readings Event Cabaret's John Benjamin Hickey will be among the Texas actors reading Texas writers at the seventh Texas Bound reading event June 7 at the Alley Theatre's Large Stage. Cabaret's John Benjamin Hickey will be among the Texas actors reading Texas writers at the seventh Texas Bound reading event June 7 at the Alley Theatre's Large Stage. This year's event will feature the works of Robert Olen Butler, Tracy Daughtery and Mary K. Flatten. Hickey, who left Broadway's revival of Cabaret March 2, will read "Assailable Character" by Daughtery. Alley company actor Jeffrey Bean, most recently Oscar Wilde in Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, will read "Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot" by Butler, who won the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction with A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain. Julie White and Nadine Swoboda from TV's "Grace Under Fire" will read "Old Enough" from first-time publishing San Antonian Flatten.

Arts and Letters Live, the Dallas-based literary series, and the Alley Theatre host Texas Bound, which aims to bring notable Texas actors together with notable Texas writers for public readings.
