News Actress Jana Robbins Honored by Jewish National Fund Sept. 26 Broadway actress, cabaret performer and producer Jana Robbins is among women being honored at the Jewish National Fund's Tree of Life Award Dinner at The Rainbow Room in New York City Sept. 26.

In addition to Robbins — who appeared in the Broadway and touring productions of The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, and was Tyne Daly's trusty standby in Gypsy — the JNF will honor former world chess champion Susan Polgar and Nickelodeon Preschool Television's Teri Weiss. Robbins, whose Cy Coleman tribute, One Hell of a Ride!, has been seen in New York and regionally, is still acting in plays and musicals, but she recently added "producer" to her resume — she was an above-the-title producer of Broadway's Little Women. The national tour launches Aug. 30.

The Sept. 26 Jewish National Fund event will include performances by Broadway guests.
