American Conservatory Theatre's revival of Buried Child, starring Frances Lee McCain as Halie and Obie winner John Seitz as Dodge, opens June 19 at the Geary Theatre in San Francisco. Directed by Les Waters, Sam Shepard's dark family comedy plays through July 14.

The clan at the center of Buried Child is a twisted group – couch-bound father Dodge, vegetable-obsessed son Tilden and his one-legged brother Bradley — but no less desperate to survive, despite the family secret hidden in the backyard. This production of Buried Child uses Shepard's 1995 rewrite, which was prepared for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and played on Broadway.

McCain began her career on Broadway in Woody Allen's Play It Again, Sam before moving on to film where she was featured in "Footloose" (as Ethel MacCormack), "Gremlins," "Back to the Future" and "Patch Adams." A Broadway veteran (Frankenstein, No Man's Land), Seitz won his Obie Award for Abingdon Square.

Also in the cast are Marco Barricelli (Tilden), Robert Parsons (Bradley), Neil Hopkins (Vince), Rene Augesen (Shelly) and Steven Anthony Jones (Father Dewis).
