Directed by Igor Goldin (Yank!), the reading will feature the talents of Mark Aldrich (Ragtime) as Pulitzer/McKay/Bartholdi, Ryan Duncan (Shrek) as Goodleaf, Suzanne Grodner (Bye Bye Birdie) as Moscowitz, C. Mingo Long (Les Miserables) as Samuel Ferguson, Beth McVey (Beauty and the Beast) as Regina Schuyler, Adam Monley (Mamma Mia!) as Walker, Emma Rosenthal as Emma Lazarus, Esther Stilwell (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Liberty and James Zitelli as Giovanni.

Liberty features book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein with music by Jon Goldstein. The new musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of a beautiful, French immigrant who arrives in New York Harbor in 1884. This inspiring new musical follows the statuesque immigrant’s struggle, strife and success in the ever-evolving country she’s come to symbolize."

The readings will also feature musical direction and vocal arrangements by Jeffrey Lodin, choreography by Jeffry Denman and orchestrations by Bryan Crook.

Industry folk interested in attending the readings should contact La Vie Productions at or (646) 290-7897. For more information visit

The reading is in preparation for a late 2011 opening of the new musical, which will coincide with the Statue of Liberty's 125th birthday in October.
