Mike Birbiglia: The New One, a new comedy written and performed by writer, actor, and filmmaker Mike Birbiglia, has extended its limited engagement at the Cherry Lane Theatre this summer. The show, which was only announced earlier this week, quickly sold out its original run.

"I haven't seen anything like this since we produced Oh, Hello at the Cherry Lane," producer Mike Lavoie tells Playbill.

Mike Birbiglia: The New One will begin performances at the Cherry Lane Theatre July 26 ahead of an August 2 opening. Directed by Seth Barrish, the limited engagement has been extended two weeks through August 25.

Birbiglia's recent shows include My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend and Thank God for Jokes, which were both filmed for Netflix. In addition to performing live, Birbiglia is an author and filmmaker who wrote, directed, and starred in the films Sleepwalk with Me and Don’t Think Twice.
