Monash's Alexander Theatre is the venue for David Williamson's new play After the Ball, fresh from the Melbourne Theatre Company's season. Stephen MacCrae returns to Australia from his home in the south of France to join his sister Judy at their mother's death bed. Judy resents her brother for the international career he has made in film commercials while she has had to devote all her time to caring for their ailing parents and her own family in suburban Melbourne.

The emotional landscape of the MacCrae's living room mirrors Australia's volatile passage through the four decades of change that have altered the face of the country and inspired the debate currently stirring the nation.

Venue: Alexander Theatre Monash University. Season: Sept. 30 - Oct. 4. Bookings (03) 9905 1111.
