News Aida to Reach St. Louis' Fox Theatre in April 2001 The national tour of Disney's new musical Aida will make a stop in St. Louis, at the Fox Theatre, April 27-May 6, 2001. Aida will conclude the Missouri theatre's 2000-2001 "Broadway Series," which was announced on May 14.

The national tour of Disney's new musical Aida will make a stop in St. Louis, at the Fox Theatre, April 27-May 6, 2001. Aida will conclude the Missouri theatre's 2000-2001 "Broadway Series," which was announced on May 14.

After tryouts in Atlanta and Chicago, Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida opened on Broadway at the Palace Theatre on March 23. The NYC production features Adam Pascal, Heather Headley and Sherie Rene Scott and was recently nominated for five Tony Awards, including a nod for Headley.

According to the Fox, the St. Louis engagement will be only the second stop on Aida's first national tour. No casting has been announced.

Another Disney musical, Beauty and the Beast, is also on the Fox agenda. The show, which is still running on Broadway, will stop in St. Louis Oct. 3-8.

The "Broadway Series" will also see a new touring production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, starring Ann-Margret in the role of madame Miss Mona; Larry Gatlin in the road show of Frank Wildhorn's The Civil War; and "The Love Boat" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" star Gavin McLeod in Barry Manilow's Copacabana. The full line-up runs as follows:
