A single from that recording — also titled "In My Mind" — is currently in the #1 most added single slot at urban radio formats. That single is currently available on iTunes. "In My Mind" is the follow-up disc to Headley's "This Is Who I Am." The latter garnered Headley two Soul Train of Soul Awards as well as Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best R&B Vocalist.

About her upcoming recording, Headley said in a statement, "I wanted the album to be like a book, almost. Where the songs provide glimpses into my personality, taking you to some very different places musically, and hopefully are full of fun and surprises along the way. . . . Your second album is always a little more worried over because there are suddenly expectations to what you're doing. But I felt very comfortable working with [Babyface, Shannon Sanders, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Lil Jon]. I love the notion that good music can still affect you in an instant, and I don't mind saying I think we can affect a lot of people with this one."

Heather Headley earned a Tony Award for her performance in the title role of Disney's Aida. She has also appeared on Broadway as Nala in The Lion King, in the all-star benefit concert of Dreamgirls and the City Center Encores! production of Do Re Mi.
