The 8 PM concert will pay tribute to the actress' late mother, jazz singer Nina Simone. It was Sept. 12, 1959 when Nina Simone recorded a live concert at Town Hall, which was celebrated by audiences and critics alike. Her daughter will revisit that performance, bringing her own style to her mother's repertoire. Simone will be backed by Al Schackman and the original Nina Simone Band.

Born Lisa Celeste Stroud, the singer-actress is known professionally as Simone. In addition to an extensive concert career, Simone has appeared on Broadway in Aida and Rent as well as in the national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. Her debut solo album is titled "Simone Superstar."

Tickets for the evening are priced $32.50 and $37.50.

Town Hall is located in Manhattan at 123 West 43rd Street. Call (212) 307 4100 or visit www.ticketmaster.com for tickets. For more information go to www.the-townhall-nyc.org.
