Ain't Misbehavin', the musical revue of Thomas "Fats" Waller's music that made a star out of Nell Carter and copped a Best Musical Tony in 1978, is being performed at the Arakelian Theatre in Newburyport, MA (near Boston) through April 12. The show, evocative of Harlem in its heyday, includes plenty of Waller's signature slide piano flourishes and nearly three dozen of his songs, from "Honeysuckle Rose" to "Two Sleepy People" and "The Joint is Jumpin!"

The director is Michael Wainstein.

The theatre is in the Firehouse Center for the Performing and Visual Arts in Newburyport's Market Square. Performances are Thu.-Sun evenings (call for curtain times), with matinees Sat. and Sun. For tickets, $20, call (978) 462-7336.
